Bummed...

I had an incision check-up today and asked the OB about when I can start back with exercising, other than walking.  She wants me to wait until at least 6 weeks... I'm so bummed!  Hubby is planning to start CF this week and I was really hoping we could start together (even though it's probably going to take me forever to get back into the groove after such a long break). Oh well, though.  I don't want to go against dr.'s orders just in case I bust something:).

Hopefully I'll have a new update on my regular cf blog in a about 3/3.5 weeks!

She's here!

I'm such a bad blogger and didn't update this when our little angel arrived.  Isabelle was delivered via c-section on 8/5/10 at 8:33AM.  I was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday afternoon and kept until she was born.  We tried for a natural birth (well, with an induction), but she wasn't tolerating things well and we made the hard decision to have a c-section.  It was for the best, though, and I can't regret it since I have a healthy and happy baby finally!

She was 8lbs. 11oz. and 22.25 inches long at birth and just perfect in every way.  We are adjusting to life with a newborn, and loving every minute of it.  I just can't get enough of her!

I hope to be able to get back to CF soon!  I have a check-up this week and I'm going to ask the Dr. about when I can start exercising again.  I'm still on pain meds from the surgery, but I hope to at least get out of the house and do some walking around the neighborhood this week.  It's definitely taking longer to bounce back than I anticipated, but of course, I didn't plan on having a c-section either! :)haha.

39 weeks and counting

5 min. row
5 min. walk on treadmill
15 or so air squats (doing lots of these randomly throughout the day trying to get baby to engage)
10 push presses (15lb. bar)
3 snatches w/15lb. bar.  - just felt awkward as all get out, so I quit:)

Everyone in my family thought for certain I was having the baby this weekend, due to the full moon.  She's holding steady in there, though!  I guess I just need to get used to her running the show:).

5 min. of rowing today.  Woo hoo!

I am SO looking forward to getting back into the groove of working out regularly again and not having a big basketball out front slowing me down:)haha.

I really love the rower, though.  I'm not sure the baby appreciates being squished up on it, but it's very relaxing for me!

17 days until my due date, not that I'm counting down or anything:).

Haven't been very active at all lately. Just walking the two flights of steps at work and getting in and out of my car has been the extent of my physical activity. My (c)ankles are still swelling like balloons, but that's just due to the heat, I'm sure.

Today I actually did a bit more activity than normal, though, so I figured I'd come on here and brag! ;)

Hubby got me a rower!! And it is so much more fun than being on the treadmill. He's really excited about using it too, which is great!

I only did about 600m or so, until my legs started to burn. I didn't want to be sore, so I kept it at a reasonable pace. It felt great to get the blood pumping again, though!

And I'm SOOO ready to meet my little girl!!

Warm-Up only again but at least it's something. Might try to get some walking in this afternoon once it cools down a bit, and I would really like to get some presses in. Haven't lifted anything remotely heavy (for me) in forever.

15 push-ups (knees down, on parallettes)
20 air squats
20 KB swings (15#)

Battling bloody noses everyday, swollen ankles and lack of sleep due to bathroom breaks throughout the night:), but I really can't complain because I'm still feeling wonderful. Only 5 weeks left until my due date!

Air Squats

Did 20 air squats, that's it. While watching tv. I'm such a slacker lately and I haven't even been walking!!

I hope to start working from home more often in the new few weeks, so that should allow me more time in the mornings to get some walks/worksouts in. It's just too hot to work out in the afternoons now. (This is my excuse, at least!)

Warm-Up

Actually did something resembling a warm-up yesterday.

5 min. walk (@3.5mph on treadmill) - goal was 10, but my feet/ankles were so swollen they went numb!
10 push-ups (knees down, on parallettes)
20 air squats
20 KB swings (one-arm, 15#)

Hope to get some 45# push presses in today as well as some more walking on the treadmill. We'll see:).

CF Mom 6.8.10

We've been working on Isabelle's nursery the past week or so. Thanks to lots of family members helping us out with restaining older furniture, our little girl is going to have a really nice room.

I haven't done anything active this week yet.

Morning sickness seems to have returned the past few weeks. I don't know if it's that or possibly allergies? Either way, I feel hungover every morning. Lots of fun! :) But at least I'm in the homestretch. Only 7.5 more weeks until my due date!!

Ugh.. haven't worked out in FOREVER

Well, I didn't ever end up doing the workout below. I plan to at least get my big butt on the treadmill tonight to walk for 10 minutes. We'll see if it goes anywhere from there. :) I hope I get at least some push-ups or a few KB swings in there as well, but I'm keeping my expectations low. I can't even remember the last time I worked out. Usually my afternoons consist of putting together baby gear and laying on the couch with my feet up praying that the swelling goes down:). Hello CANKLES! :)haha.

Feeling huge, but still really good. I'm 30.5 weeks now, and up about 28lbs. Well over my goal for this point in the pregnancy, but I've pretty much given up the idea of eating paleo while I have half of my husband's genes inside of me:)haha. It's funny, we both came home one night and confessed to eating fast food that day and it clicked! THAT'S why I'm eating like crap... it's the Adam in me now:). As soon as she arrives, it'll be back to strict paleo/primal so I can feel normal again.

Crazy hectic this month and I'm really looking forward to June. I plan to take it easy as far as activities outside of the home for the next two months. No more trips, no more busy, busy weekends. We've done the childbirth class, done the baby shower, now we just need to get busy on the nursery and doing all the crazy house-cleaning stuff that everyone always jokes about. :)

I'll update again once I do my walking this afternoon.

UPDATE:

10 min. walk on treadmill @ 3.5mph
20 air squats
20 one-armed KB swings, 15#
10 push-ups, knees down on parallettes
20, 1 leg lift to chest (subbing this as an ab exercise)

And I stopped there because I didn't want to overdo it:)haha

CF Mom 5.19.10: "Reagan"

We had our 4D ultrasound yesterday and I must say the technology is really amazing! It was so fun to see what our little one is going to look like as an infant.

Warm-Up:
10 min. walk on treadmill
20, 1-arm KB swings, 15#
20, 1 leg lifts

CF Mom 5.19.10: "Reagan" (Beginner)
15-12-9
Push ups (knees down, on parallettes)
Lunges
Hang power cleans #25

Time:

Taking it slow today and easing back into working out. It feels like it's been forever what with the vacation last week and all. Lots of walking, but also lots of eating, so I don't know that it evened out:). I'm excited to get back into a routine, but I'm still exhausted from the trip.

Off to the big apple...

Well, Adam and I are taking our "babymoon" tomorrow to NYC. It should be a really fun and packed week! I'm so excited and yet, tired at just the thought. Hopefully we'll get in lots of walking and my sciatic pain won't kick in. It was really bad over the weekend due to sitting for 8 hours in a childbirth class. It has since backed off some (and I hope I'm not jinxing myself!!).

Back to a normal routine next week, I hope!

CF Mom 5.4.10

Going to try to get this done this afternoon after dinner with my mom. Tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo (meaning mexican food for dinner!!), so I would like to make that a rest day:). If this doesn't get done tonight, it'll be done tomorrow.

EDIT 5/5/10: Well, this didn't get done last night! :) So I'll be doing this early this afternoon before Adam gets home.

Warm-Up:
10 min. walk on treadmill
20, 1-armed KB swings
10, 45# good mornings

CF Mom 5.4.10: "Baby Barbara" (beginner)
5 rounds
4 pull ups or progressions (ring rows)
5 push ups (knees down on parallettes)
6 knees to elbows or knee ups (did these lying down, one leg to chest at a time)
7 squats

Time: 8:28

I think I'm offically stopping the KTE's until baby arrives. I can't stomach watching the muscle separation when I do them. It's completely freaky. I tried doing them one leg at a time, and it was still graphic, so I'll be doing these on the floor from now on:). This was a good work-out. Definitely not too tough, but got me sweating!

Now... on to some Mexican food!! :)

<-- 27 weeks, feeling HUGE!

Ugh, hot weather has been a pain lately! I really hope this isn't a foreshadowing of what our summer will be like. I don't know that I'll be tolerable to be around come July with this humidity.

Warm-Up:
10 min. walk
10 push-ups (knees down w/parallettes)
10 KTC's (had to break these up into 4-3-3)
20, 1-armed KB swings (15#)

CF Mom 5.3.10: "Jade" (Intermediate)
3 rounds TWO rounds
15 hang power cleans #45
15 walking lunges
15 shoulder press #45

Yesterday, did a 5 min. walk on treadmill and 10, 45# SDHP's.

Warm-Up:
10 min. walk on treadmill
20, 1-armed KB swings, 15#
10 KTC's

15 10 pregnant burpees (squat, then knee push-up on parallettes = 1 preggo burpee)

CF Mom 4.22.10

I've been sick with a head/chest cold since Friday, so I'm not sure how much of this I'll get done. I have to at least get some walking in, though. I'm sure it will make me feel somewhat better.

Below is my goal for today, but I might scale it back even further depending on how I feel once I get started.

Had my glucose screening this morning. I'm really hoping to pass, but I won't know for at least a few days. My diet has been off the charts bad lately, so once again, I really need to work on reigning it in. I'll do well for a few days, then go off the deep end for a few days. It's a ridiculous cycle that I really need to break.

Warm-Up:
10 min. walk
10 push-ups (on parallettes, knees down)
20, 1-armed KB swings, 15#
10 KTC's

CF Mom 4.22.10: Intermediate
4 rounds
10 back squats #25, 35, 45, 55* (I'll do two rounds at 20#, 2 rounds at 45#)
10 dips (bench w/knees bent)
*For back squats, use 1st weight for the first round, 2nd weight for the second round, etc.

CF Mom 4.19.10

Warm-Up:
6 min. run/walk (going to try a belly support band this time to see if it allows me to run more)
10 push-ups on parallettes w/knees down (good suggestion from Nikki!)
20, one-arm KB swings (15#)
5 KTC's

CF Mom 4.19.10: Intermediate
3 rounds of
50 feet walking lunges
20 squats
10 good mornings, 15lb. bar

Time: N/A - only on round, no time

Well, I ended up just doing one round of this (and only 10 squats) b/c my legs are so worn out. I'm not sure why, maybe it's just all the extra weight I'm carrying around? But my legs (ankles to hips) are just TIRED all the time.

The belly support band did help with the running, so I'll keep that up.

CF Mom 4.15.10

<-- 25 weeks

Saturday - got my garden planted, seriously exhausting but very fulfilling! I just hope SOMETHING survives:). I'm notoriously the one with the black thumb in my family.

Sunday - cleaned house a bit and moved gym around. It felt like a work-out and even had to rest a bit because I was getting winded & nauseated. I might have to move it again today before my work-out, but hopefully it won't be as labor intensive. It's hard trying to find enough space that will allow me to work out and have room for baby once she arrives.

Warm-Up:
Walk/Run 10 min. (only 2 min. of running)
10 KTC's
10, 45# back squats

CF Mom 4.15.10: "Etta" (Beginner)

AM Warm-Up

Got up early this morning to work out a bit since the afternoons don't seem to be a good time for me anymore. I'm just too wiped out by time I get home from work to have the motivation to do any kind of physical activity.

5 min. walk on treadmill
20, 1-armed KB swings (15#)
100 single-unders
10 KTC's
10 push-ups
20 air squats

If I have extra energy tonight, I might try to get another small workout in.

Some kind of physical activity

I vowed to work out yesterday and instead I took a cat nap on the couch. ugh.

So for today, my goal is to just walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes. Hopefully by doing that, I'll be motivated to do the workout from Friday that I never did. If not, at least I will have walked for 10 minutes, which is better than sleeping on the couch!

I swear, by 10AM every day, I'm beat. I can barely keep my eyes open at work and in the afternoons, forget it. And I've actually been sleeping through the night for the most part. I'm not sure why I'm so tired, other than the obvious, of course:).

Warm-Up:
10 min. walk/run
10 pregnant burpees

Mainly walked, but ran for 2 minutes.

CF Mom 4.9.10

I vow to do better next week (and to actually do this tonight!).

I really have not felt motivated to work out this week. I'm guessing it's been the record setting heat wave we've had. Also, my routine has been a bit altered since we are having work done on our main bathroom. Maybe these are just my excuses, though.

A good night's sleep has sadly become a thing of the past for me. Between multiple bathroom trips due to a bladder kicking fetus, and just being uncomfortable in general, I'm finding I lack the stamina to make it through the day cognitively. I actually sleep better if I exercise, so you would think that would be enough motivation. I'll have to keep reminding myself of this when a nap on the couch starts calling my name instead of the workout:).

Diet is still all over the map. Some days I do well, other days it's carb-heavy processed food to the max. At least I know I can get back to super clean eating once I don't have Izzy controlling my cravings:)haha. At least, let's hope!

Still having body image issues, but honestly, that's nothing new for me. This whole weight gain thing has been SO hard. I'll have a beautiful present at the end of all of this, though, so I'm trying to keep my eye on the prize and not sweat the small stuff (well... actually, it's the LARGE stuff that's the issue:)haha).

Okay, enough complaining for today! ;)

Warm-Up:
10 min. walk/run
10 preggo burpees (squat, then push-up on steps)
20, one-armed KB swings (15#)
10 bench dips

CF Mom 4.9.10: "Jennifer" (Intermediate)
3 rounds
500m row - subbing 200 single-unders
15 back squats #45
15 knees to elbows/chest

Time:

I ended up doing NONE of this on Friday. Seriously disappointed in myself. I did get yard work done on Saturday. Not nearly as much as my husband, but there was some heavy lifting involved. Still concerned about my weight gain. I'm up another lb. today and it just seems like there is no end in sight for me! I feel huge right now and am just concerned about ballooning up and then having to lose all of that extra weight after the baby is born. My eating still isn't where I want to be, so at least I have something tangible to focus on for now.

Rest

Lots of rest lately, and so much for getting in my three workouts a week. Yesterday I came home and rested after getting ZERO sleep Wednesday night. I hope this isn't a trend.

Got more sleep last night, but then I overdid moving furniture at work today, so I had to come home & rest due to a bit of belly pain/cramping. It's really hard not being able to do all the things that used to be no big deal! I guess it's worth it though;).

Plan to hike a bit tomorrow while looking at a piece of land, so that will be fun!

CF Mom 3.19.10

I have been very bad and lazy this week. I ended up doing only a few sets of 10 air squats yesterday and that was my total activity for the DAY! Pathetic. I'm hoping next week has a better showing:).

I had planned to go bike riding for a little bit this weekend, but have since been told by a friend that pregnant women are not supposed to bike ride... ? I haven't been able to find any information stating this online, so I might just try it out and see how balanced I feel. It's not like I will be racing or anything, I'm just talking about a leisurely ride in my very safe, non-trafficky neighborhood. Or maybe I'm just being hard-headed.

Warm-Up:
5 min. walk/run
10 ring dips
100 single-unders
20, one-armed KB swings (15#)

CF Mom 3.19.10: Death By Pull-Up, Push-Up:

CF Mom 3.16.10 & IT'S A GIRL

Well, we had our 20 week ultrasound Tuesday and it's a GIRL (for sure this time)! It's great to have finally seen it with my own eyes and really enjoy the idea. Adam is absolutely thrilled, so that makes it fun.

I had planned to do this after the appt., but we went to dinner and I was too full after that to attempt this. Same situation last night. Now I'm getting behind on my March goal, so I'll need to workout Saturday (usually not something I find easy:).) I have asked Adam to get out my bike and get it all ready to go for me, so hopefully this is something I can start incorporating.

Warm-Up:
10 min. run/walk
10 Ring Rows
10 KTC's
10, 45# back squats

CF Mom 3.16.10: "Michaela" (Advanced and Intermediate)

Prenatal Yoga

I'm really starting to get worried about my weight gain. I was up 12lbs. this morning and my plan at this point in the pregnancy is to be up only 8! Got to get things back on track (without getting too obsessive about it)!!!

If I'm feeling good tonight, I plan to do some kind of walking (either on the treadmill or outside with a pup) and the prenatal yoga video I have. Hopefully by trying to do something active every day, upping my water intake, and cutting out soda & most of the junk food, I'll be able to get things in line with where I want to be. Of course, I realize that this could be a growth spurt (meaning, the baby needs it), but I want to make sure I don't let it spiral out of control.

Had a bit of a panic attack this morning when I got on the scale. :( This pregnancy weight gain thing has been the hardest part of the process for me!

CF Mom 3.11.10

I'm feeling good and frisky this week apparently:). Four workouts in a week! It's got to be the warm weather. I plan to get in a dog walk before the work-out, as well, but we'll see how the afternoon plays out.

Warm-Up:
10 5 minute run/walk
10 push-ups
10 ring dips
4, 30 sec. plank holds

20, one-armed KB swings (15#)

CF Mom 3.11.10: Intermediate
3 rounds of -
20 rope jumps
15 pull ups (subbing ring rows)
15 hang power cleans (45#)

Time: Untimed

This was a bit of a disaster. I'm just tired, I think, so my warm-up ended up being ALOT shorter than planned. That and I didn't time this because I was interrupted a few times by the dogs (my male boxer likes to try to "catch" the jump rope) and then the rope BROKE! I had to use my old one, which stinks, to finish it out. I did the three rounds of rope jumps & ring rows, then did the hang power cleans afterwards. I didn't feel like walking up & down the steps to do it in order.

Rest day tomorrow... with maybe a dog walk thrown in.

CF Mom 3.4.10

I'm posting this early so that I actually do it! Planned to do it yesterday, but ate a huge dinner of Ethiopian food instead:). Today will be my third day for this week... so I HAVE to do this:).

Warm-Up:
10 min. run/walk
10 push-ups
10 KTC's
100 single-unders

CF Mom 3.4.10 (Beginner)
15-12-9
Step ups
Kettlebell deadlifts #30-50
Pull ups or progressions

So much for doing this... and my goal for the month. Does it count if I'm active today (Sunday) for last week? :) Ended up ill all day Friday, so I skipped this, and yesterday was just another lazy day. We're going hiking today, so at least that counts!

Baby Movement

I finally felt the baby move today!! I had a sugary drink and about an hour later, I could feel the little one moving around like crazy! I even felt a little kick which was about the coolest thing ever! I can't wait until the movement gets more regular and my husband can feel them as well.

Rest day today.

CF Mom 3.1.10

<-- 18 weeks--
Okay, new goal: Work out three times per week for the month of March!

Hopefully, this will help me to be more consistent. Up 8lbs. today.

Warm-Up:
100 single-unders
10 push-ups
10 Ring Dips
10 Ring Rows
5 min. walk

CF Mom 3.1.10: "Parker" (Intermediate)
3 rounds
15 push press #45
15 squats
15 knees to elbows or knee ups XX subbing 15 ball sit-ups

Time: 9:06

Well, I freaked myself out a bit today, because while doing the second set of ball sit-ups, I could see my stomach separation!! Totally gross, so I quit the sit-up portion at rep 11 on that round. I went downstairs and did a test run on a few KTC's and it didn't do the same thing, so I'll have to stick to those from now on!

CF Mom 2.16.10 - Ashton

(Photo taken from article)

Interesting article on exercise in pregnancy and baby's birth weight. I don't necessarily think a baby over 8lbs. is obese (I was a whopping 10lbs. when I was born), but I can definitely see the advantages for the mama of having a normal birth weight baby.

I'm worried that I'm not getting the intensity up as high as I could/should be. I'm so paranoid about depriving the baby of oxygen that sometimes I barely break a sweat throughout the workout. I'm going to start upping the intensity and see how my breathing goes.

Dinner tonight with my mom, so I might not get to this depending on where we go and how much I eat:).

<--Updated: 2.22.10--> Well, not only did I not do this on Thursday, I didn't do it Friday, Saturday or Sunday either! Total slacker lately and it's been killing my self-esteem. Weird how awful I feel about myself when I don't exercise. I can't imagine a life without regular exercise (despite my track record lately!). I did do some physical activity this weekend, though, just not anything for an extended period of time. DH and I decided to swap living room furniture, so I helped him move the sectional that was upstairs to our downstairs den. Had to call in my dad for reinforcements to bring the basement couch upstairs though (belly felt a little pulled/tight and got me worried). Then Sunday, I helped moved a buffet type furniture piece to the car. So, it wasn't much, but it was at least better than spending the entire weekend on the couch.

I told my boss & co-workers about the pregnancy last Friday. It's such a relief to not have to hide it anymore. I wasn't really hiding it for any reason other than I hadn't had a chance to tell my boss yet (and to be honest, I was nervous about telling), but trying to find outfits in the morning was getting to be worrisome:).

<-- 17 weeks

Warm-Up:
10 push-ups
10 ring dips (2 bands)
10 ring rows

CF Mom 2.12.10 - Annie

<--16.5 weeks - up 5lbs.

It's been awhile since I worked out... oops:). I had my 16 week appt. yesterday and it went well. Baby is doing great, heartbeat is normal and he/she was moving around like crazy in there. We got a gender prediction, but I'm not so certain I believe it. I thought for sure it would be a boy, to the point of excluding the entire idea that it might be a girl and guess what the doctor thinks it is??? A GIRL! :) I'm slowly getting used to the idea, but I won't really believe it until the 20 week ultrasound which should be much clearer.

For the workout today, I just have to say that I love doing push-ups. I don't think I can say how much. Maybe it's the whole military association thing, or maybe it's just because you can do them ANYWHERE, in any kind of clothing, at any time. They are just so convenient & fun. And it's so easy to measure your progress!

Warm-Up:
5 min. walk/jog on treadmill
5, 2-band pull-ups
10 KTC's
10 Ring Dips

CF Mom 2.12.10 - Annie: Intermediate
15-12-9-6

Week 16 - Gender?

Tuesday is my next appt. with the OB. I am REALLY hoping we can find out the sex of the baby. Like I'm GIDDY with the idea of finding out. If my prediction/intuition is wrong, I'm sure it will take some getting used to.

But I was thinking today how let down I will be if I have to wait a whole other month to find out! DH cannot make it to this appt., so my mom & sister will go with me (isn't that awesome!). I'm sure the Dr. will really appreciate having an audience, but I don't care. Since hubs can't be there (& is very disappointed about it), I'm going to see if the Dr. or tech will write down the sex on the back of an ultrasound pic so we can find out together.

But what if the baby doesn't cooperate or if it's too early to tell? I know I'll be so disappointed. Of all the silly things to worry about, right?

Need to get more consistent with both updating this blog AND more importantly, working out! My sciatic nerve pain is completely gone, which was even faster than I had hoped for! Ring Rows, Push-Ups, Squats

Well, yesterday was a disaster and I was pretty bummed the whole time. I'm going to go with what I know I can do instead of trying something else and being in pain. Also got a prenatal yoga video in the mail today, so I'll do that as the warm-up.

Warm-Up:
Shiva Rea's Prenatal Yoga dvd

WOD:
15-12-9
Ring Rows
Push-Ups
Squats

Didn't do the workout today, just did the yoga video. It was really fun! But somewhat long (I'm used to short workouts apparently!).

I'll do this tomorrow evening hopefully.

Total pain in the a**

First off, I want to say how thankful I am to be pregnant. And I really hate to complain about symptoms when I know some women would give everything they own to be miserable and pregnant:).

Saying that, for the past few days, I have been sidelined with the worst shooting pain in my butt/left lower back. At it's worst, I actually see stars! I did some research b/c I thought maybe I had done something to myself, but turns out it's just my uterus/baby putting pressure on the sciatic nerve. Of all the cruel things to do to a pregnant woman:). It's worst in the morning (after sleeping all night) and if I sit for long periods of time. I feel ancient because I'm hobbling around the house holding my lower back.

Some things I've read say that if it shows up early, it could mean it will go away early. I'm holding out hope that these articles are right. Seems pretty common for lots of pregnant women, though (if people's comments on my FB page are any indication).

At my next appt. I'm going to mention it to the dr. to see if she has any special remedies.

On another depressing note, I'm going out to buy some "big girl" (as I like to call them) pants/shirts today. I feel like I'm busting out of all my regular clothes, even with the unbuttoned/hair tie trick. Maybe this will make me feel better about my body image. I had a bit of an emotional breakdown yesterday (lucky DH!) about how fat I feel. It's really hard gaining weight and feeling puffy. I'm up 2lbs. as of today, but yesterday was lots of bad/carby eating (french toast was calling my name!). I keep telling myself I'm pregnant and this is kind of what's supposed to happen, but it still doesn't make weight gain any easier.

Layla - CF Mom

This one looks right up my alley! :) My three favorite things (except I can't do pull-ups, so it'll be ring rows).

Warm-Up:
2 dog walks (depending on the weather)
4 x 200m sprints (might be jogs, but I'm going to try to sprint) -- 6mph x 1, 7mph x 3
10 KTC's
10, 45# shoulder press
10, 20# KB swings

"Layla": Advanced
5 rounds of -
10 pull ups (subbing ring rows)
10 push ups (5th round, knee push-ups)
10 squats

Time: 10:49

Post WOD - STRETCH! I haven't been stretching at all and I know I really need to, now more than ever.

Felt like I was going at a snails pace, but I was so out of breath! I'm always worried that the baby might not be getting enough oxygen, but it's hard to not listen to that voice urging you to push yourself and do just one more rep.

I wonder if I'll get used to not pushing myself after 7 or so months of this and then will have a hard time with motivation after the pregnancy. I guess it's just something to keep in mind for later on.

Warm-Up/Calisthenics

Decided to take it easy today, that 45# felt like a ton for some reason. Oh, and here's me at 13 weeks. Be ready for lots of expanding belly pics (this is my first baby after all. I have to enjoy these while I can! :)haha)

10 Push-Ups
20 lunges
20 Sit-Ups
3, 45# thrusters
7, 45# push press
10, 45# good mornings
20, 20# KB swings

Another good day today, mood & body-wise. I really have to get my eating in line, though. I ate sherbet AND dark chocolate today, so it was a bit of a bad snacking day for me (although, not as bad as some days recently!!). Still only up 1lb. but I think that has more to do with muscle loss than anything else. My body measurements have increased dramatically (somewhat due to baby, somewhat due to lack of muscle tone).

Hubby is sick, so I'm trying to take care of him without really getting too exposed to the germs. I've never been a germ-a-phobe, actually the opposite, but being pregnant, I don't want to take any chances. Weird how your outlook changes even BEFORE the baby arrives:)!

Warm-Up:
2.5 min. run/walk on treadmill
10 push-ups
10 KTC's
5 ring dips (2 bands)
5, 45# shoulder press
10, 45# good mornings

5, 45# shoulder press
10, 45# good mornings

NT Scan

My legs are SORE from those back squats and all the stairs:).

I had an NT scan done yesterday afternoon. It's a scan where they look for chromosomal abnormalities such as down syndrome. All looked good and baby was doing acrobats during the scan. I think we might have an active little one if the ultrasounds are any indication! He/she finally settled and the tech was able to get a good look at the tube behind the neck. All measured well within the normal range, so that was a relief. I'll have to wait a week for the official results, though.

Dinner with my mom tonight, so I'm hoping to at least get a dog walk in with a few shoulder presses. But I might be feeling up to a CF Mom workout. I'll post again later with what I decided to do.

My diet has been a little wonky lately. I can't seem to keep away from the carb heavy stuff. I feel so much better after eating the healthy food, but getting it down is the problem. I'm going to try to keep the carbs to a minimum tonight at dinner, but we'll see what actually looks appetizing!

CF Mom 1.13.10

My goal is to work out every Monday, Wednesday & Friday for now. I hope I can keep this up because the workout on Monday made me feel AMAZING! It's nice to be sore again after so long of slothery:).

We had our second check-up yesterday and had another ultrasound. It was awesome! The baby was swimming all around in there. It was so cool to look at. Heartbeat and size look great for where we are, so that was a relief. We announced the news to everyone yesterday and received tons of well wishes and support. We are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends.

Oh, down another pound, so I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight today. I was a little low on calories yesterday, though, so I should go back up a pound or two if I can get the required calories.

Warm-Up:
5 min. walk
10 KTC's

"Reagan", 11 weeks

I'm hoping to get in my first real work-out tonight. It's been about, oh, I don't know, 5 -6 weeks since I've done anything other than just push-ups, sit-ups or squats.

I'm 11 weeks pregnant and tomorrow is our second appt. with the OB. I'm hoping everything still looks normal/healthy. We'll start announcing to extended family and close friends this week if everything checks out. Exciting and scary!! :)

I'm up 2 lbs. as of this morning. I'm trying to ease back into paleo, so I'm hoping this will keep the weight down. My goal is 1 lb. in the first trimester, 6 lbs. in the second, and 12 lbs. in the third. That would give a total gain of 19-20lbs. for the pregnancy. Definitely ambitious:). But it's a place to aim.

Warm-Up:
5 min. walk
10 Ring Rows
10 KTC's
5, 45# shoulder press

"Reagan": Advanced
21-15-9
Push ups
Lunges
Hang power cleans #45 (12-9-6)

Time: 9:54

Phew, I am OUT OF SHAPE! I couldn't believe how out of breath I got so quickly. And my strength is sapped. The shoulder presses were very difficult as were the hang power cleans and I had to scale that back further.

Feeling good to actually have done SOMETHING physical today, though! I'm proud I was actually able to drag my butt off the couch:).

10 Weeks

Well, I'm starting to feel somewhat more human now, although, the food aversions are still pretty strong (weirdly enough, pizza is the worst and it's ALWAYS on tv!). My nausea has really improved in the last few days, so for that, I am thankful. Still extremely tired. I took a little nap/rest yesterday from 4pm-5pm, which I NEVER do, but I needed it.

Finally got off the couch to do a short warm-up. I planned to get on the treadmill as well, but it didn't happen.

20 Push-ups
30 Sit-ups
30 Squats

I've been trying to eat healthier and I am anxiously awaiting the day I can go back to paleo. I'm worried about putting on too much weight and I know paleo will keep this at bay plus get the baby as many nutrients as possible. It's weird, but I used to bruise REALLY easily, like I would have bruises on my legs from where I rested my knees on them in sleep. However, on paleo, this went away completely, no more bruising. I've noticed since being pregnant that the bruising is back. Another wonderful benefit of paleo eating:).

As of today, I'm up 1 lb., but some days it's 2 lbs.
