CF Mom 2.16.10 - Ashton

(Photo taken from article)

Interesting article on exercise in pregnancy and baby's birth weight. I don't necessarily think a baby over 8lbs. is obese (I was a whopping 10lbs. when I was born), but I can definitely see the advantages for the mama of having a normal birth weight baby.

I'm worried that I'm not getting the intensity up as high as I could/should be. I'm so paranoid about depriving the baby of oxygen that sometimes I barely break a sweat throughout the workout. I'm going to start upping the intensity and see how my breathing goes.

Dinner tonight with my mom, so I might not get to this depending on where we go and how much I eat:).

<--Updated: 2.22.10--> Well, not only did I not do this on Thursday, I didn't do it Friday, Saturday or Sunday either! Total slacker lately and it's been killing my self-esteem. Weird how awful I feel about myself when I don't exercise. I can't imagine a life without regular exercise (despite my track record lately!). I did do some physical activity this weekend, though, just not anything for an extended period of time. DH and I decided to swap living room furniture, so I helped him move the sectional that was upstairs to our downstairs den. Had to call in my dad for reinforcements to bring the basement couch upstairs though (belly felt a little pulled/tight and got me worried). Then Sunday, I helped moved a buffet type furniture piece to the car. So, it wasn't much, but it was at least better than spending the entire weekend on the couch.

I told my boss & co-workers about the pregnancy last Friday. It's such a relief to not have to hide it anymore. I wasn't really hiding it for any reason other than I hadn't had a chance to tell my boss yet (and to be honest, I was nervous about telling), but trying to find outfits in the morning was getting to be worrisome:).

CF Mom 2.12.10 - Annie

<--16.5 weeks - up 5lbs.

It's been awhile since I worked out... oops:). I had my 16 week appt. yesterday and it went well. Baby is doing great, heartbeat is normal and he/she was moving around like crazy in there. We got a gender prediction, but I'm not so certain I believe it. I thought for sure it would be a boy, to the point of excluding the entire idea that it might be a girl and guess what the doctor thinks it is??? A GIRL! :) I'm slowly getting used to the idea, but I won't really believe it until the 20 week ultrasound which should be much clearer.

For the workout today, I just have to say that I love doing push-ups. I don't think I can say how much. Maybe it's the whole military association thing, or maybe it's just because you can do them ANYWHERE, in any kind of clothing, at any time. They are just so convenient & fun. And it's so easy to measure your progress!

Warm-Up:
5 min. walk/jog on treadmill
5, 2-band pull-ups
10 KTC's
10 Ring Dips

CF Mom 2.12.10 - Annie: Intermediate
15-12-9-6
Push press #45
Push ups

Time: 7:37

Push-ups were on my knees after the first 22 reps. Arms felt like jelly!
